The bar and the pie chart highlight seven reasons for adult education and what people think about how to share the costs of each course. Significant differences in both reasons and opinions can also be clearly seen.
A glance at the graph reveals that “interest in subject” and “to gain qualifications” are two of the most important reasons for adult education with the rating up to 40% and 38% respectively. On the contrary, only 9% of the participants chose “to meet people” and 12 % chose “to be able to change job” as the major purpose of their decision. The three remaining reasons including “enjoy learning/studying”, “ to improve prospects of promotion” and “helpful for current job” have a relative and equal number of vote between 20% and 22%.
It is interesting to note that based on people’s opinions, individuals should pay 40% of the tuition for each course they enter. The employer is the next one, who should take responsibility for 35% of the costs while the rest should be paid by the taxpayer.
