Percentage of water used for different purposes in six areas of the world

The pie charts provide information on the ratio of water utilized for various goals in six regions of the globe, namely: North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia. It would suffice to take a quick glance at the figures to realize that water consumption for industrial need accounts for approximately 50 per cent in Europe and North America countries. On the contrary, just 10 per cent, 12 per cent and nearly 5 per cent of the total go to industrial use in South America, South East Asia, Africa and Central Asia, respectively. A more detailed look makes it clear that water utilization makes up above 80 per cent of the whole in Africa, Central Asia and South-East Asia areas for South America lands this percentage is precisely 71 per cent. It is also worth noting that in all lands a small fraction of water consumption is for domestic aims, at between 7% and 19%.
