The six charts show the percentage of water used for different purposes in six areas of the world, namely North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia. From the charts we can see that the agricultural use of water accounts for an overwhelming percentage in South America, Africa, Central and South East Asia, which are 71%, 84%, 88% and 81% respectively. While the industrial and domestic use of water in the above four areas are comparatively low, around 10% to 20%. Things have become different when it comes to North America and Europe. The use of water for industry purpose accounts for 48% in America and 53% in Europe. The agricultural use of water in these two areas are comparatively low, around 40%, and the same as the percentage of water used for domestic purpose, around 15%, lowest among three.
