The line graph shows / illustrates how many male and female graduates were there in Canada between 1992 and 2006. Overall, it is evident that in all the years there were more female graduates than male graduates. While their numbers remained more or less constant until 2000, afterwards there was a dramatic surge in the number of both male and female graduates.
To begin with, there were fewer than 100, 000 female graduates in 1992. This figure increased slightly over the next three years and reached 104, 000 in 1995. A similar trend was observed in the case of male graduates as well. While there were 70, 000 male graduates in 1992, their number had reached 76, 000 by 1995. The numbers of both male and female graduates increased steadily from year 2001 but the rise was sharper in the case of females. While there were a little more than 100, 000 female graduates in 2001, over the next 5 years, this number increased dramatically to 148, 000. The numbers of male graduates also increased from around 75, 000 in 2001 to around 95, 000 in 2006.
