The illustration presents a proposal for Islip town development compared with the current layout. At a first glance, the most relevant changes will be larger amount of roads, facilities and spaces for housing. In terms of roadways, a new dual and wider carriageway will be surrounding the entire town center still connecting with the west and east edges of the main road. Additionaly, the section of the roadway between the current shops will be replaced by a pedestrian path. By looking at the facilities, the most relevant transformation will be turning northern shops and countryside into new places such as a bus station, a shopping center, a parking lot and a new housing with car access to the main road. The shopping space will have the most considerable space almost the same that will be provided for the new residential zone at the northeast. Finally, In the southeast residential zone, the park will be reduced keeping approximately only a quarter of its current size and it will include new housing space. The school and housing in the south will stay as nowadays.
