Many people are becoming vegans and are eating fewer or no animal products. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this? 0pxw9
As different types of diet plans are in vogue right now, a huge part of the population are turning vegans and so are consuming very less or no meat or animal related products at all. To start with, vegans are those who cut down all the animal related products from their diet for safeguarding animals. Also, vegetarians are different from vegans. For instance, vegans do not even consume dairy products that come from animals like curd, milk, eggs etc whereas vegetarians do not take any meat in their diet but do consume dairy products. Some of these vegan foods include leafy vegetables, sprouts, sweet potatoes and all the fruits. The pros of being a vegan are that they are saving animals, they get all the required nutrients our body needs, they help reduce our risk of suffering from various diseases to name a few. Furthermore, a part of vegans also do not use any item like bags, footwear, belts, jackets made of animal leather to protect the animal community to an extent. Coming to the cons of being a vegan, we may not receive the required amount of proteins and essential fats our body requires for our day-to-day chores which we usually get from having meat such as eggs, chicken, fish, paneer among many others. Another downhill of being a vegan is that people might face vitamin deficiency in the long run. Also I think people might not have enough energy to survive throughout the day. In conclusion, being a vegan has both advantages and disadvantages. While being a vegan helps us protect animals and lose weight, it also deteriorates a person’s health in the long run due to lack of deficiency of ample amounts of iron, calcium and vitamins.
