The table illustrates the world population using the internet, there are given numbers in millions and in percentage, while the pie chart offers languages which are mostly used by those people given in the table. Overall, there is a noticeable upward trend in usage of the internet between 1997 and 2001 years, where the given indicator reached the highest level in 2001 (8. 4 percent). The lowest data of 1. 8 has grown consistently over the years and somehow has almost doubled in 2001 compared to 1999. English was preferred as an online language by 43 percent in 2001 and exceeded other given languages. There was only a slight difference between Japanese (8. 9 percent) and Chinese which was 0. 1 percent behind. European languages such as German (6. 8 percent) and Spanish also had a negligible difference, which was a mere 0. 3 percent. Other languages barely reached 3 or 4 percent. To sum up briefly, according to the given dates, the number of Internet users was growing rapidly, and at the same time English was the undisputed leader in languages.
