The given graph demonstrates the intake of spreads in grams from the year 1981 to 2007. Overall, all the three spreads followed a fluctuating pattern with low fat and reduced spreads being the only one whose consumption had increased in comparison to its beginning point. Over the years, butter spread's consumption decreased most significantly. Initially, butter spreads and margarine spread had a consumption of over 140 grams and 90 grams respectively in 1981. Both the spreads followed a fluctuating pattern, with butter spread reaching the highest consumption among all three spreads in the given period in 1986 when almost 160 grams of butter was consumed. However, both butter and margarine consumption went through a significant decline, with the former decreasing to nearly one-third of its initial level in 2007. Margarine consumption was reduced to more than half of its initial level in 2007. Low fat and reduced spreads which was first introduced in 1996. Its initial consumption was significantly low at only 10gm but later it increased significantly, reaching its peak at 80 gm in the year 2001, which was eight times its initial value. Its consumption started to decrease slightly from 2001 and reached almost 70 grams in the year 2007.
