In the modern world, clerical work is getting more and more dominant and needs a plethora of clerks. Therefore, an office tends to be designed as an open space with no separated rooms. There are numerous notions that a workplace with such structure will make obstacles for the development of the company; nevertheless, I agree with the opposites idea that this arrangement is much more convenient and effective.

There are numerous notions that a workplace with such structure will make obstacles for the development of the company; nevertheless, I agree with the opposites idea that this arrangement is much more convenient and effective. Admittedly, such kind of office undoubtedly results to a number of disadvantages. The foremost problem is that it causes distraction from working to the workers. To exemplify, having no restricted barriers may provide the opportunities to the staff to chat privately and have idle gossips. This phenomenon unquestionably leads to a decrease in the productivity and efficiency of the company. Admittedly, an open office design has drawn potential with several merits. Firstly, without the existence of walls and barriers, the room will significantly be larger and avoid wasting space for those things. Due to that, the employers can comfortably add more employees into the offices without creating any resent feeling to them. Secondly, the staff members can easily help and communicate with each other. In the past when the workplace was still divided into different rooms, to hand in files or give advice on technical issues, they had to come to the others’ room, which took them a load amount of time. In conclusion, offices constructed as an open space assuredly have some negative impacts on the working community. However, I believe that their advantages certainly can outweigh the disadvantages.
