Style of working has changed unprecedently in recent years and continue to take different forms. Companies are evolving and changing their ways of working to keep up with the new trends. Open design offices are being adopted by small and large companies equally. Even though working in closed cubicles have their own benefits, it is still an outdated concept and works against a non-hierarchical work environment. In my view, open design work arrangements are more effective in creating a healthy work environment. Working in open environment without creating individual cubicles saves a lot of space. It ultimately leads to saving of the other resources such as electricity, furniture etc. Open offices can be set up anywhere, do not necessarily needs a dedicated office space. It brings down a red-tapism in companies and a promotes a culture based on equality. Workers enjoy equal rights in such places which acts as great motivation for them to do better in their jobs. It ultimately leads to employees satisfaction which is directly linked to prosperity of a company. A number of studies conducted on reasons behind profitability of specific companies has shown a direct link between such open work arrangements and their financial growth. On the other hand, enclosed workstation have their own particular uses and suitable for some very specific jobs. For instance, a lawyer doing research for his case might better off in working in cubicle rather than sitting in noisy table along with others. In conclusion, open work arrangement works better than closed workstations and gaining a lot of traction among companies.
