IELTS Writing task 1: Maps of the Islip town

IELTS Writing task 1: Maps of the Islip town jVba8
The two maps describe how a small town named Islip is planned to change in comparison with its current layout. Overall, the future town will be much more modernized and equipped with new facilities than the present town, mainly in the northern part of town. On the current map, this centre has a main road running east to west with shops on each side. North of the main road is a countryside area. On this road, there are two houses on the south side. A school is located to the west of these areas. There is also a park on the east side next to the housing estate. Both the school and the park are connected to the main road by two side roads. As can be seen from the second map, the most noticeable change is the construction of a two-way route around the town. The previous main road has been converted into a pedestrian area, the countryside area and shops in the north have been up plan cleared to make way for new developments such as bus stops, car park built on two sides, in the middle is a shopping mall. In addition, there is also a new housing area that has been relocated from west to east with an alley connecting to the main road. Finally, on the south side almost unchanged, the shops have remained the same, the school has been built slightly larger while the park has been reduced and next to it is a newly built housing.
