IELTS Task1- British Airport. Rww8W
This table shows information about how a plethora of travelers used three categories of major airports in Britain over the six years period between 1998 and 2003. As is presented in the table data, travelers numbers for all three airports nearly doubled within six years from 81 million to 158 million. However, this increase is not evenly distributed among the three airports. Gatwick is always ranked at the top of all three airports, with the exception of 2000, when Heathrow rose the lead. In 1998, Gatwick airport, starting from 36. 5 million travelers. The number of visitors using this airport increases significantly every year, peaking at 69. 3 million in 2003, much larger than the other two airports, Heathrow and Stansted. Stansted's visitor numbers also tend to be similar, this number was 17. 3 million travelers in 1998, much lower than the other two airports, then increased significantly to 43. 3 million travelers in 2001 and remained stable in 2002 and 2003. The number of arrivals at Heathrow Airport has seen a significant growth from 27. 2 million travelers in 2000 to 48. 2 million travelers in 2000. That means Heathrow was the most popular airport in the UK in 2000. However, although it declined gradually over the next two years, reaching only 33. 2 million travelers in 2002, this number has since recovered to 45. 6 million travelers in 2003, 2. 3 million more travelers than Stansted Airport.
