My family is a nuclear family including my parents, me and my younger brother. We are all busy people: both of my parents do the white-collar job, I and my brother spend most of our time on schoolwork, so we split the household chores equally. My dad is responsible for the labors such as doing weight-lifting, mending things around the house and sometimes cleaning the house. My mum does most of the cooking and grocery shopping. Being the elder child in the family, I take up a large share of housework. I do the washing up, lay the table for meals and do the laundry. My brother has to sweep the floor, water the plants and do the washing-up. We enjoy doing the household chores together since we all know that it’s not anyone’s duty but all, and splitting the chores equally also helps to create a positive atmosphere for the family, too.
