The graph given here represents some activities performed by the aged people of United States in their leisure time. The graph covers a time span of over three decades, i. e from the 1980s to the 2010s. There were 5 activities performed in majority. Watching TV was the most popular activity in the 1980s. Surfing the internet wasn't something very well liked or favoured as it consisted only 5% of the elderly people. It saw a gradual increase of around 10% till the 2000s and then had a steep rise of 35% in the last ten years. The activity which saw a sudden soar in its popularity, was hiking. Being one of the least preferred activities of the elders, it had the highest rate of growth making it the most favourable activity. It saw a sudden rise of around 60%, the highest rate of growth of any activity. Reading and theatre had an uncertain report, both of them being inversely proportional to each other till the 2000s. There were some instances and a period of time when both of them were equally popular. On an average, all the activities have an increase in their usage. Overall, all the elderly people have had an increase in their productivity in these three decades.
