The quantities of goods transported in the UK from the year of 1974 to 2002 is presented in the graph. Besides, there are four different types of transportation is utilized over the years. Firstly, in 1974, around 70 million tons of goods were transported by road, which eventually increased and almost reached the 100 million tones mark. Secondly, from around 39 million tones to approximately 65 million tons of goods were transported via water during the given timeframe. Thirdly, railroads were also used to transport goods and the range was from 40 million tons to 41 million tones. Last but not the least, in 1974, around 5 percent of goods were transported via pipeline which increased to 21 percent in 2002. In conclusion, the highest amount of goods was transported to the UK by utilizing roads from 1974 to 2002, which reached approximately 100 million tons. The second most way of transportation was waterways. On the other hand, the lowest goods were transported via pipeline.
