The diagram demonotrate how an igloo is constructed. This process consists of five major stages, beginning with locating an area with a thick layer of snow and ending with covering the hole with snow blocks.
In the first step of the process, after the surface of the ice has solidified, the craftman will use a saw to cut large chunks of ice into blocks of the right size to build an igloo. After smoothing the blocks with a saw, they were arranged in a circle and a hole was dug in the bottom of the wall for an entrance. Then, they put larger sized blocks on the top of the igloo.
In the next stage of the process. The snow is shoveled onto the outside of the igloo and sealed up in the crevices, and the inner surface is smoothed by hand. The inside of the tent will be cleared of any excess snow. Finally, they will dig a hole to make the entrance to the tent, which will be covered with a block of snow to complete the igloo.
