The presented graph depicts the fertility rate, defined as births per woman, in the Gulf countries during the years 1990 and 2000. The countries included in the study were Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, S. Arabia and UAE. As we can see from the following data, in 1990 Oman had the highest fertility rate, followed by S. Arabia. The country with the lowest fertility rate were Bahrain and Kuwait. In 2000, despite a decrease in deftility rate, Oman and S. Arabia still had the highest fertility rate of over 5 birthes per woman. Bahrain and Kuwait, droped to an average fertility rate of less that 3 births per woman. When comparing the decrease in fertility rate between 1990 and 2000, we can see decrease in all countries, ranging from 0. 75 to 1. 5. The larsegst decline was recorded in Oman, from an average of 7 births to only 5. 5. Kuwait had the slightest decrease in fertility rate, from 3. 5 to just under 2 births per woman.
