As a child, I was known as a playful, curious, and often troublemaker girl, and I was only calm and quiet when the adults were answering my many questions. Questions like "how do remote controllers work? " or "how do bulbs produce light? ". On summer nights, my father would tell me magical stories about constellations. It was the time when I became fascinated by the wonders of nature. During elementary and high school, although I lived in a slum area with limited facilities, I was selected as the best student each year due to my deep aptitude for Mathematics and Physics. Succeeding that, I was accepted to study bachelor's degree in the best university in my city. Studying Mechanical Engineering was my choice to continue my academic life. Because I considered Mechanical Engineering to be a link between Nature and Mathematics. There is a famous saying: Mechanics is the paradise of Mathematics. Familiarity with specialized software in the field of Mechanical Engineering and working on various course projects were among the integral part of the activities I did in my undergraduate period. For example, I started programming with MATLAB from the first year of university and I have been working in this field for almost six years now. Industrial design is also one of the fields that I was very enthusiastic about. I started learning engineering design with Catia and later, I also learned SolidWorks for 3D design. Since I was terribly interested in control science topics, I studied the structure of PLCs and learned their programming for my undergraduate project, and then passed a job training course at the Bistoon Thermal Power Plant, working directly with PLCs. During this period, I got to know the power plant monitoring systems, which was a wonderful experience. In terms of studying, even though I was not the best student in the class, being with motivated students and experienced professors put me in a situation to realize that scientific progress requires not only great aspirations but also continuous study and effort. Therefore, in the last semesters of the university, I was able to improve my grades by increasing my study hours. Consequently, I got accepted for a master's degree in one of the highly-rated universities in Iran. During my master's course, I chose a creative and very capable professor as my supervisor and for about two months I studied more than 50 scientific articles. So, I could find a topic for study and research that not merely suits my interests, but even is one of the challenges of today's world. Since I still have the motivation to discover the laws of nature, I chose to study bio-inspired robots, and during my master's degree, I studied extensively the types of robots that mimic the locomotion of animals. The topic of my master's thesis was on extracting dynamic equations and simulating the motion of a worm-like robot. As a result, I could extend the motion equations of this robot and prove the results of my research by computer software. Toward the end of my master's courses, I realized that control science, followed by intelligence, is an inseparable component of robotics. Therefore, from two years ago until today, I have studied and implemented various control methods and I have published articles in this field. Besides, in the last two years, I have concluded that in addition to studying, working in a profession also has several benefits for me. These include gaining professional experience, the ability to work in a team, and improving social skills. For this purpose, I spent a year designing different parts and printing them with a 3D printer for a group working on soft rehabilitation robots. After that, for about a year, I also headed the mechanic's department of an industrial online store. In this job, I became acquainted with Internet businesses and concepts such as the principles of SEO, marketing, and contracting, about which I had no previous knowledge. As the team leader, I also planned and managed the work of 9 individuals in my group. I currently devote most of my time to study and research. I recently submitted two articles in the field of robotics in the Soft Computing and Automatica journals. At the same time, I am planning to start a new project inspired by my previous work. I this project, I am going to develop dynamic equations of a two-dimensional worm-like robot that is completely designed by myself. For the following reasons, I think I am the right person to participate in this project: • Although my sister is young, she has been suffering from a special type of rheumatoid arthritis for many years and her disease is currently incurable, and this gives me a strong reason to work on your project which benefits humans. • Since I was a member of a team that worked on soft robots with pneumatic actuators used for hand rehabilitation for about a year. I have studied the movement of the joints of the human body. • I am familiar with the governing equations, the locomotion, and the structure of a wide range of bio-robots. • Although my field is not control engineering, I have designed various linear, nonlinear, fuzzy, and industrial control systems and I am fully acquainted with concepts such as uncertainty, disturbance, and noise. • I do believe that consistency is more important than perfection. • I don’t need an in-person reminder for doing my tasks. • As I know from my personal experiences, I am a fast learner. Consequently, I can bravely step out of my comfort zone and do something new as I did before. • I have been a manager. As a result, I am a multi-task and team-oriented person.
