Statement of Purpose Chemical Engineering Department I am of the opinion that, as we live in a common world and stay in touch with one another, we have responsibility for turning our world into a better place for living. From the early days of my childhood, I have had a dream to do something that can change the life of people. I was born to an open-minded family - my father is retired and my mother is a housewife. My father received his diploma from his high school. He was the most important individual who encouraged me to continue my studies toward higher levels of education. As a short summary of my high school lifetime, I can mention that I had a strong feeling about physics, and therefore I chose mathematics and physics as my major in high school. During this period, I had a chance to get to know my chemistry teacher and have a good teacher and student relationship with him. That opportunity raised a feeling inside me and prompted me to decide about my future with a tendency toward chemistry. After I consulted with professors and experienced people, I finally decided to choose Chemical Engineering as my major in university. I started my undergraduate studies at Azad University of Robat-Karim one of the best engineering universities in my country. In the first year, I tried to become familiar with all aspects of my major and decided to choose a goal for my studies. Therefore, I became a member of the Tehran Institute of Technology which is the best engineering school in my country. In this activity, I tried to become professional in my field and find the best way by which I could help my country to prevent waste of money and time and people to live a happier life, and finally, I found Process engineering as the best approach. Process engineering is a science that is related to designing, simulating, and optimizing ranging from Cosmetics to extraction of oil from the deepest seas. I recognized that, through this field, I can improve human life in such fields as oil and gas industries, food industries, and environmental sciences, to name but a few. In order to find my special interest, I chose different elective courses in Chemical engineering and gradually recognized my tendency toward Control and Process. As chemical engineering has to do with developing technology directly, and because many inventions are emerging these days, I thought I can make more progress in this field than in others. One of the most important needs in the world today is to advance in science and find new levels of knowledge to work on and introduce new high tech to the world, and I found this a suitable ground for carrying out research so as to recognize new methods to do so. Besides all the mentioned factors, in the last few years, my family, which is the most encouraging thing in my life, are dealing with more problems. because of the lack of knowledge in the factories and low-level technology during the last five years people in my country are having a hard time, I wished that there would be an absolute way to this problem, and I can make everybody's life easier and more enjoyable. the realization of which encouraged me more to opt for Chemical Engineering. This was because I thought, by so doing, not only could I be effective in the world, but also I would be able to stop the waste of sources in my country and maybe the whole world or make it to the least. Having chosen my field of interest, I focused my studies much more on Process and control. I selected the "Familiarity with the basics of Chemical Engineering" course to become more familiar with this field. In all the projects that I did in groups or by myself, I did my best to do a comprehensive project. For my Bachelor’s science thesis, I chose Membranes and Membrane Processes, in which I could pursue my interests in a Separation branch in the Chemical field. but I was not satisfied in this field so I investigated and found Process and Control more interesting. In the last year, all of my activities were focused on enhancing my abilities in researching and improving my computer skills. Thus, I spent some time learning to simulate software like HYSYS and ASPEN PLUS. With this in mind, I did some projects, using HYSYS, which contributed to my promotion. I am now determined to continue my studies to receive my Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering with the trend of Process and Control Engineering. Since the research areas of your university are so close to those of my interests, I found--------- the best place in which I can pursue my graduate program under the supervision of outstanding faculty members and with great academic facilities. I found the opportunity of studying in your institution a stepping stone toward my future achievements and toward enriching my experiences. For career aspirations, regarding my background, I decided to choose a plan, by means of which I can use my talents in order to contribute to the development of Engineering sciences as far as I can. Nowadays with the pandemic that influenced all the Countries and Nations, it is hard to work for a lot of persons and it includes a lot of jobs. I hope these hard times pass. On one hand, this pandemic helped me to do all the postponed things in my life. I started to do self-studies. All those studies are all by myself from the books, the internet, and learning social applications. On the other hand, I am waiting for the chance to test my knowledge and abilities which I tried to learn in this period of time. I hope I can achieve this objective by resorting to hoping and perseverance.
