Reflective Essay
Have you heard about the common word Racism?
How has it become an unresolvable dispute?
For decades, the entire universe is very well known about racism in the US. White people have many consequences with black people. Everyone knows these are two different communities. I also belong to a black family. I was just 7 years old when my grandfather along his family migrated to San Diego in the United State. People surrounding us were all white and we were the only ones in the neighborhood. My grandfather worked a lot for the town. He stood for street children and constituted a law to provide them a reliable shelter in the town. I and my sister couldn’t go out to play in the streets because those white children were forbidden to let us play with them by their guardians and parents. My father had unemployment as of being black. Mother couldn't have friends and someone to help in the street.
Once a day, I, my sister, and my mother went grocery shopping. In the supermarket, people around us were abusive and insulting us by calling us black. My mother got scared and teary because we were children and she was the only adult to protect us. Those white people wouldn't bring us groceries from the market. Mother was worried about how we survived without food every day and with this racism.
On other hand, the schools were not admitting me and my little sister to their premises. The family was also worried about our further studies. Unless my grandfather was also fighting and stood against the right of black and poor street children. He stated a constitution that this universe and a piece of land belongs to every mankind either white, black, rich, poor, old, adult, or old. We were all living in our houses so they should also have their shelter. They are also responsible for the government to provide every facility.
When we migrated here, my father applied to almost every organization for his job. But no one among white was accepting his proposals. Although my father was an Electrical engineer with excellent skills and experience of 5 years, the difference between white and black made it almost impossible for him to find work.
We also faced a lot of struggles in our studies. White children in the school made us feel ashamed for being black. White children didn’t play with us or involved us in their activities. Teachers also differentiated between white and black children. They paid more attention to white rather than black.
In the United State, race and inequality with black is always the main issue. Black people face very difficulties to survive in the United States in every era. Blacks were not allowed to celebrate their cultural, religious, and social events. Unemployment is the biggest issue in every region of the United States, as my father also faced complications for his job. Without his job, we couldn't survive because he was the only one to earn in our family. He lost his 3 jobs during that time. After that, he decided to open his institute, in which all were treated equally either black, white, rich, or poor. My father owned his institute to spread knowledge and awareness and positive thoughts all everywhere. On his struggles and much hard work, he only succeeded 40%. Our neighbors started to respect us and consider us their part of the street.
We could independently go to shops for groceries. Grandfather got a lot of respect within his services with the contribution of the government. Our neighbor started to fund street children and their shelter and studies.
After a few years, my grandfather died and people again recognized us by racism. We didn’t find space for a mortgage to our grandfather. We had to go far for his final and cultural event.
After a huge disappointment, my father decided to move to another city, Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, there was a huge dispute between black and white. Even many people had been killed during this difference. White people don't allow blacks to celebrate their events, don't give them jobs. They disgrace blacks in every aspect.
To resolve this dispute the government should make equal rights and laws for both white and black people. But the government also doesn't accept the tickets of black people. We also had a new few days ago, a white policeman targeted a black man. He was 43 olds and they left him to die. After this mishap, Black people raised their voices against white police and safety for the family of the man who died. But the government didn’t take any prior action against the police. We can consider how this hatred is spreading and how blacks are surviving without having equal rights and independence of their culture and religion.
Now I am 16 years old, what I observed in these 10 years in a dispute between black and white race will never end. It is and will be growing each second as it is transferring from our fourth fathers. Mothers and elders also teach black and white children to hate each other. This rate of hatred is increasing day by day. What we have come to know is racism never ends in the United States.
Still, my sister and I are facing difficulties in our studies even after migration and living for years in the same region. In high school, girls and boys made us hate black children. They also play racist and gender differentiation in their education, class, corridor, or gate entrance, no one to stop them far.
As an example of former President Barack Obama, many citizens and political parties were against him during his services. They do not consider his work and sincerity towards his duties in the United States of America. They also pointed to his color rather than his sincerity and work for them. After a big time, they succeed in targeting him.
