The reading passages stated that companies in The United States would implement new policy for employees who decide to work four days a week instead of the current five days work week. Meanwhile, the lecturer casted doubt about this new policy would result, the lecturer mentioned some warning that this decision might have not been mentioned by the reading. First, the reading claimed that shortened work days would increase company profits, since employees would be more rested and alert, therefore, would make fewer errors. However, the lecturer stated that companies would be forced to spend more money. If they hire new employees, they will have to pay for training, extra medical benefits, create more office space, and also buy more computers.
