The passage and lecture hold two opposing views about the importance of following news. The reading passage proposes three possible reasons for the benefits of the news that they are very good for people. To begin with, the first reason described by the author regarding the fact that news induces our mind and emotion. However, the speaker finds this statement debatable and refute it.
