Ageing is the law of nature. Human bodies undergo numerous changes with the passage of time. It is the responsibility of near and dear ones, as well as the Government authorities to look after the oldies. According to the studies, the mortality rate has shown a significant decline after the advancement in medical services and its positive effects on the living beings. On the contrary, lots of people have developed a bend of mind to spend the later years of their lives in a separate home with other old people. These houses are assumed to have been equipped with medical aids and facilities, including nurses to look after the aged. It has been observed in many cases that the Government of various nations including Britain, pay for this care. However, it accounts equal duty of the family to bare the living and care expenses of their own family members in their later years. There could be many reasons for this including few listed below. Firstly, it keeps you connected with the family irrespective of distances. Secondly, individuals feel secure and planned for later old years. Researchers have listed in many publications that personalized care, supervision and medication keeps oldies happy and healthy. Thereby, they live longer than expected. For example, in Japan, families eat together, stay connected and love to spend their last moments of life with their closed ones. However, with nuclear families becoming common, it could become problematic to balance the expenditure. Hence, in my opinion if this responsibility gets shared between the Government and family members, it may lead to a better place with peace and serenity in life. It would be praiseworthy to not only spend lavishly on own lifestyle but also to give comparable time, love and support to our dear ones, particularly aged members. Life would be phenomenal on mother Earth with this vision of optimism.
