Two maps illustrate the village of Strokeford in two different time period. 1930 and 2010. Overall, the village situated next to River Stoke with a road cutting through the area. Early on, it used to be filled with farmlands with limited households and facilities before becoming more urban later on with the absense of farmland and an increased in residents.
In 1930, the majority of the areas were farms, occupied on both sides of the village. The road in the middle of the village lead to a bridge on the North, which crossed the river. Households and facilities such as a post office or shops located along side the road. On the right side of the village, there was a primary school. Next to that on the South, a large house with gardens was located.
Moving on, in 2010, all of the farmland were gone. The residential area was increased and facility such as primary school was upgraded in size. Furthermore, some accomodations changed its function, such as the large house which became a retirement home or shops which dissappear altogether. However, the natural feature like the river and a man-made structure like the bridge remained the same as before.
