The maps illustrate the transformation of a small-scale Irish town over the period starting from 2000 to now. In general, the village witnessed significant changes, with the most noticeable being the expansion of housing. Including the farmland was replaced by the park and the introduction of the car park. As can be seen, on the top left-hand corner of the maps, the farmland was flattened in order to make way for the park. Additionally, the town gradually became crowded and hectic with more houses being built along the two sides of the main street, whereas some shops stayed unchanged throughout the period. However, in the south of the village, the market was being taken over by some restaurants. Not only that but the dock on the water was also demolished. It is also worth noting that a car park has been constructed near the house and the hotel as the town attracted more residents.
