Overall, the purchase of these products had a substantial rise in five-year interval for all countries except for Denmark. The coffee expenditures for UK enormously increased from 1. 5 to 20 million euros, and the banana expenses jumped into fivefold for Fairtrade-labelled products. The second huge increase was in Switzerland, the coffee sales doubled in 2004, and the banana’s exceeded threefold of 1999 ones. The coffee sales in Belgium reached 1. 7 by 0. 7 million euros rise, while the banana sales grew more than six times to 4 million. In two of the 5 countries, there was not important difference for fairtrade-labelled products.
