in three categories in 2002. Overall, it can be seen, that people spend the most money
on food-drinks/tobaco, a smaller amount on clothing and the least on leisure and
education.
Of all the countries, Turkey's citizens spend the largest percent of their own budget
on food and drinks with 32, 14% and after that is Ireland with 28. 91%. The next three
countries all fall under 20%. Spain is in the middle with 18. 80%, Italy next
with 16. 36% and in last place is Sweden with 15. 77%.
The consumer spending on clothing is smaller than a tenth for all the countries.
Italy has the biggest expenditure compared to the others with 9%. Turkey,
Spain and Ireland have almost identical percentage around 6. 5% with consequently
6. 63%, 6. 51%, 6. 43%. The country with the least spent amount is Sweden with 5. 40%.
The expenditure on leisure in the five countries has a range from under 4. 5% to under
2%. In firs place with the highest percentage is again Turkey with 4. 65%. Next we
have Italy and Sweden with percents of 3. 2 and 3. 22. In second to last place is
Ireland with 2. 21% and laslty we have Spain with 1. 98%.
