The pie charts illustrate comparative data about five categories of house expenditure in Japan and Malaysia during 2010. Overall, as is shown by the graphs Japanese and Malaysian people spent the largest proportion of their budget on just three categories, namely housing, food and other goods and services. Moreover, the percentage of spending on Health care and Transport were double the figures for Malaysia. As the graph shows Malaysian homes had the greatest expenditure on housing, which represented 34% of the total. Whereas in Japan the figure for this category was just 21%. The largest amount of Japanese income was invested in Other goods and services, at 29%. Meanwhile, the rate of spending on this area by Malaysian households was slightly lower, at 26%. In terms of food, the averages of expenses for both countries were almost the same, at 27% for Malaysia and 24% for Japan. The remaining categories had the smallest proportion of spending by both nations, Health care accounted by 3% in Malaysia and Transport got 10%. These figures were exactly doubled in Japan which were 6% and20% respectively.
