The maps illustrate transformations that occurred in Westerling over an eleven- year period from 2000 to 2011.
Generally, Westerling underwent great development in terms of services and roads over more than a decade.
It is clear that the town is divided into two parts by Green Street that are the west and the east of Westerling. A further addition to the north of the map was the expansion of North Road which was changed into Motorway M51 along the north of Westerling. In the western area, the open space next to the houses were still there which was transformed into blocks of flats. In the left hand corner of the west, factories were pulled down and made way for the multi- story car park. Beside, shops next to them that were reduced in size.
On the right side of Green Street, a part of the woodland was cut down and made way for the golf club. Moreover, the detached houses along the woodland were removed and replaced by the hotel. Further developments in the east of Westerling were the destruction of the bus station, street market, and the car park which made way for the bus and railway station. In the right hand corner of the map, the technopark was constructed next to the school that remains unchanged.
