The two maps illustrate the transformation in the Connecticut Community from December 1686 to April 1687.
Overall, the district had some building modifications in April, but the significant transition was in the environment because snow piled up across the region in winter, meanwhile green space overtook the neighborhood in spring.
Regarding the community in winter, it was separated by the High Street and the South Road. Matthew’s Wood House and Hannah’s House were located in the west side. Otherwise, Meeting House, Onion Field, and some villager’s house were positioned in the east side. There were also meadow and iced river on the bottom side of the region.
On the other hand, in spring, one change that stood out was that some people were starting to go outdoor since the greenery increased dramatically. Another noticeable change was that some buildings remained the same, but Will’s House and Dame School were constructed in spring. Matthew’s Wood House was also converted into a new house. Meeting House was repositioned below Will’s House that was once beside villager’s house. Furthermore, the river was melted and half of the meadow had been cleared.
