The line graphs show the percentage of households which own electrical appliances and the number of hours spent doing housework in a household per week between 1920 and 2019. According to the first graph, the percentage of households which own refrigerators raised sharply from just above 0 percent in 1920 to 100 percent in 1980. Meanwhile, there was a steady increase in the number of households possessing vacuum cleaners from about 30 percent in 1920 to 100 percent in 2000, then there were no changes from then. However, the percentage of washing machine owners first raised from 40 percent in 1920 to about 70 percent in 1960, then declined slightly in 1980, but it increased again afterwards. As can be seen from the second graph, there was a steady decrease in the number of hours spent on housework per week, from 50 hours per week in 1920 to just above 10 hours per week in 2019. In conclusion, with the increase in electrical appliances, the time of housework decreased all the way.
