The line graph provides information about the number of various types of turtles in India between 1980 and 2012. Overall it is very clear Green turtles and other species maintained a stable growth in population till 2012, whereas the olive riddle turtles showed an increase in population over the years. A number of leatherback turtles fell significantly in the year 2012. In 1980, the population of leatherback, green olive riddle turtles are equal in number when compared to other turtle species in 1980. All other species of turtles remained stable in population from 1980 to 2012. Green turtles’ number fell significantly in 1988 and fluctuated considerably thereafter. Finally in 2012 it declined to an index well below 100. A number of Olive riddle turtles rose markedly and reached an index of about 130 in 2012. The population of leatherback turtles increased sharply in 1986 and however decreased dramatically to an index considerably under 60.
