Overall, percentage of tourists to England who visited Brighton attractions fluctuated constantly. While visiting rates of the Pavilion and the Pier increased over the period, that of the Art Gallery and the Festival experienced a downward trend. In 1980, the percentage of the Pavilion and the Pier were nearly 24% and 10%, respectively. The Pavilion’ s rate increased rapidly from 28% in 1985 to almost 50% in 1995, but next five years, it declined significantly to 35%, reaching 31% in the end of the period. However, the percentage visiting the Pavilion was the highest among these Brighton attractions. The Pier’s rate underwent a continuous fluctuation throughout the period and reaching above 20% in 2010. The most popular Brighton attraction in 1980 for visitors to England was the Festival (30%). However, the proportion of the Festival experienced slight decrease close to 25% between 1980 and 2000, after remaining a stabilization to 28% during the next decade. The Art Gallery’s rate grew rapidly from 21% in 1980 to 38% in 1985, but later declined suddenly in the next five years and was the lowest in the end of the period.
