In 2000, Germany had the most members who joined the parliament, almost 33%. That was opposite with the UK which had only 3%. In 2004, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium showed steady growth. Additionally, the number of female members in the UK rose dramatically, from 9% in 2004 to exactly 20% in 2008. There was an overtook of Italy to Germany in 2012. While Italy hit the highest value on record with almost 40%, Germany experienced a slight drop with more than 35% in 2012. Next, France was placed in third place through the period and peaked at 31% of members. By contrast, Belgium had a slight decline with around 31% members. Moreover, the UK went up marginally and stayed in the same fourth position as Belgium.
Overall, in 12 years, Germany, Italy, and France had the increasing trend and it was opposite with Belgium. Furthermore, the UK was the only country which had a significant climb in the percentage of the female who participated in parliament.
