The chart illustrates the number of students from Australia and abroad who have taken admission in the universities of Australia over a span of ten years. The total enrollment of local students of the country in higher education has consistently increased over the years from 2001 to 2007 before plateauing to 600000 for the next three years while the number of students seeking admissions from outside the continent steeply rose from 20000 to the peak of slightly higher than 80000 in the period of ten years. The initial number of students is 400000 for the local students which in manifolds than the figures of the overseas students. There is a fluctuation in the commencement of in-country pupils throughout the given period of time whereas an upward trend is visible in the incoming movement of the overseas admissions from 2001 to 2010. In all the local students outnumber in terms of enrollments in the Australian universities as compared to the aspirants flying from abroad.
