The first graph illustrates data of outbound travelling by UK citizens and visitors to the UK from 1982 to 2002. On the other hand, the second line-chart represents the average length of stay during travelling by UK and overseas residents over the same period of time. Overall, for the first graph, there was a constant increased both in the number of travelled going out and to the UK in the period from 1982 to 2002. The number of visits abroad was consistently higher than the amount of trips from overseas come to UK. Specifically, with UK people that rise from 20 million to 60 million, approximately 40 million over two decades, doubling the number of foreigners welcome by UK, which just under 30 million for the highest point in 2002. Conversely, the second graph shows data about a slight decline with regard to the number of nights spent on holiday. In particular, the two-lines depict during the period between 1982 and 2002, both local and oversea residents tend to cut their travelling length, decreasing almost in parallel around 4 days. Moreover, the two-lines have a rather similar ratio inclination in the length of stay, however, the percentage decrease was comparatively greater for the visits made by international visitors than UK travellers. Clearly, citizens of the UK made longer trips than visitors who travelling towards UK. In 1982, The length of stay started at 13 days for UK residents and 12 days for foreigners. Then, these stays were significantly shorter at 11. 5 days and 9 days stay in 2002. All in all, it can be seen from the two graphs that the figure for travelling rose steadily and the average length of stay fell moderately for both group of UK and overseas people over the period 1982 to 2002.
