The graph illustrates the changes in three various sports club activities in the United Kingdom over a period of 20 years from 1983 to 2003. Overall, participation in swimming club dropped considerably during the period; meanwhile, team sports and gym activities rose significantly at the same time. In details, it is noticeable that the swimming club was the most admissible with 50% in 1983; however, it fell significantly until 1998. Afterwards, it levelled off by approximately 15% to the end of the period. In contrast, the rate of participants in team sports was around 30% and rose steadily, then peaked by about 30% in 1998. But it declined slightly as well as remained the constant amount like in 1983, making the most trendy club. Finally, the participation in gym activities stood at only 5% at first; nevertheless, this figure went up in a large scale and overtook the swimming club in around 1995 by 20%. Furthermore, it reached a peak of 25% and remained the same. Therefore, it became the second most popular activity.
