The graph illustrates trend development information about type of marriages and divorces in statistics data in the United Kingdom during fifty years. Despite the number of attempts to increase marriages, general tendency were a decrease of marriages and increase of divorces at the same time in a period of five decades from 1956 to 2006, regardless of growth the remarriages these years. Importantly, that approximately in 1970 all marriages, including first marriages, reached a peak with almost 500 and 400 thousands of weddings. After that year till to 2006 amount of marriages were going down and reached the bottom below 300 thousands for all marriages and about 180 thousands for first marriages. On the other hand, after 1970 the number of divorces and remarriages shows a small growth. In 2006 quantity of divorces was in the maximum of 150 thousands while during last three half decades number of remarriages were fluctuating between 100 and 120 thousands and came back eventually to the 100 thousands of remarriages for the starting point as it was in 1970.
