The graph shows the trend in the number of car ownership in Great Britain over a period of 36 years. Generally, the number of cars owned per household in Britain is increased between 1971 and 2007. In particular, the number of households used two or more cars steadily increased while there was a huge reduction in the ones who lived without using a private vehicle. In 2017, analysis of the car owner of the one-car households was around 44% while almost half of the families in Britain did not. It was not a common thing for those that owned two or three or even more when the total percentages of these two categories are no higher than 10%. Nevertheless, the biggest change in this period of time from 1971 to 2007 is that the proportion of households without a car fell dramatically to around 25%. At the same time, those who owned one car was remained constant at 43%. On the other hand, the number of two-car families grew steadily, reaching about 27% in 2007, and those households with more than two cars grew up to 5%.
