These activities are heating, water heating, refrigeration, cooling, lighting, and other appliances. Overall, heating utilizes the most amount of energy whereas water heating emits the highest amount of Carbon Dioxide in Australian houses. To begin, the most amount of energy is used to get heating (42%), followed by water heating which is 30% and other appliances used 15% energy on an average household. Less than 15% of the energy is used for refrigeration, lighting, and cooling. In contrast, the most CO2 was generated by water heating which is 32% whereas the other appliances emit just 4% less than it. Further, the heating and refrigeration excrete a similar amount of greenhouse 15% and 14% receptively. The lowest emission occurs by cooling and lighting which is around 10% together.
