The given chart compares the time children from 10 to 15 years old in Britain go online for two purposes including chatting and playing on games consoles on an average day at school. It is clear that overall the 10 to 15-year-olds in the UK spend more time playing computer games than chatting online. Another interesting point is that the most popular period of time going online for both two activities are between 1 to 3 hours. Only 55% of boys spend their time chatting on the Internet, which is a slightly small figure in comparison with nearly 70% of girls making a priority to do that activity. However, it is noticeable that the recorded time the two sexes use to chat online is almost the same, with the most common periods last for less than an hour or from 1 to 3 hours. Moreover, chatting for more than 4 hours only account for a minor figure, but girls also made up a higher proportion in this term. With regard to playing on games console, there is a significant contrast as a vast majority of boys favouring spending time on computer games, at 85%, while the figure of girls is only a little more than 50%. Looking at the amount of time, most girls only play computer games for less than an hour and approximately 2% of them play for more than 4 hours every day, whereas most boys make use of their time to play games on console between 1 and 3 hours, together with more than 10% who exceed 4 hours.
