The given pie charts demonstrate the comparison between 2001 and 1971 in the domestic expenditure on several goods and services across the globe. Overall, in 1971, major expenses were done on food whereas cars accounted for the most proportion of expenditure in 2001. It is evident that expenditure on books were decreased by 5% from 6% in 1971 to merely 1% in 2001. In 1971 and 2001, domestic expenditure on furniture was 9% and 8% respectively. Two percent fall can be observed in the expenses incurred on petrol. In the case of food expenditure, a dramatic decrease of 30% can be witnessed from 44% to 14% in the given years. Probing further, it is clearly seen that domestic expenditure had become six times in 2001 from 2% in 1971. Similarly, restaurants expenditure got doubled to 14% in 2001. Expenditure on cars in 1971 and 2001, 22% and 43% respectively escalated by 21%.
