The following charts provide data and information about how children watching television in Australia. Generally, it can be clearly seen that there are two major trends, both girls and boys spend about 1-5 hours watching TV in a school day and most of them are allowed to watch TV till 7: 30-9: 30 pm only. Looking first in more detail at the data, roughly more than 55% of both girls and boys watch TV for 1-5 hours in a school day. Followed by those who watch for less than an hour and those who watch 5-9 hours (around 20%). The percentage of children who watch TV for than 9 hours is only about over 6% for both girls and boys, but it can be still considerable if compare with those who don't watch TV at all (just only around 2-3% for both genders). Turning to other features, it can also be easily noticed that almost 60% of girls and 50% of boys are allowed to watch till 7: 30-9: 30 pm. Right behind is the 9: 30-11 pm bar with up to 40% of boys and 35% of girls are allowed to watch till that period of time. Only a minority percentage of children are allowed to stay up after 11pm to watch TV with just only 8% of boys and 6% of girls and the the last which is those who don't watch TV only consists of 5% for both genders
