The diagram illustrates process of generating electricity by geothermal power plant. The process consists of 5 key stages: pumping down, heating by rocks, pumping up, condensing, and electricity generation, which takes place below and above ground.
To start with, in the first stage, cold water is pumped down below the earth surface 4. 5 km from water tank to the injection well, where in stage two, water travells through the geothermal zone, contained of hot rocks. In the next stage, hot water moves to the production well and pumped up to the fourth stage for condensing. In condenser, the turbine is turned by steam, converted from water. In the fifth and final stage, generator, in its turn, produces electricity and distributes it to population thrugh the cables.
