The diagram illustrates five types of the most common writing systems that are being used around the world. There are four kinds of writings that are based on the rule of having a one sound for a one character. Despite that, every system has differences from another. Alphabetic writing includes one character having one sound(doesn’t matter if it is vowel or constant), and English language uses this structure; however, it might be impossible to make the right pair of spelling and pronunciation. Although, another three systems of writing require having an exact type of sound. In Arabic or Abjad writing, one character represents one consonant sound, while in Indian Abjuda, it describes one consonant with one vowel, and in Japanese Kana or Syllabic, one character means one syllable. Meanwhile, Logographic writing could be classified as another group, because one character has the meaning of one word. This kind of writing system can be seen in Chinese language, but it is important to note that this kind of writing might be spoken languages apart from Chinese and Japanese ones. Overall, in most writing systems, one character has its own accurate sounding, even so, in some languages, one character is being used to describe a word.
