The charts below show local government expenditure in 2010 and 2015. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Given is the pie chats which give information about local government expenses in two different years. It is clear that the spending on education, healthcare, pensions and defence accounted for most of the total government expenditure in 2010 and 2015. However, the figure for transport, culture and leisure and other was considerable lower than the former’s. Looking at the data in more detail, the percentage of education and healthcare expenditure was 24% and 21% respectively in 2010. In the following five years, the figure for the former witnessed a slight decrease which was 24% in 2015, while the latter increased to 21%. In terms of pensions and defence, the proportion of the former remained stable at 19% for the given period, but the figure for the latter saw a slowly descend, which was 14% in 2015. In terms of the spending on defence, its figure covered 17% of the total expenditure in 2010 and gradually grew to 13% in 2015. Similarly, the percentage of interest on borrowing’s expense witnessed a slightly increase, rising from 5% in 2010 to 10% in 2015. As for the rest, the total spending of transport, culture and leisure and other remained or below 5% in 2010 and 2015.
