The line graph illustrates the state of unemployment in Australia between two categories (rural and urban areas), through the four quarters of the year 2012. Overall, the rate of unemployment in the rural areas decreased in the fourth quarter, while for urban areas it increased in the fourth quarter. At the start of the year the rural area had the highest percentage of unemployment rate between the two sections. With regard to rural areas, according to the graph unemployment rate started with almost 7 percent in the first quarter, which then fell to well-under 5 percent in the second quarter, fluctuated a bit in the third quarter and settled at 5 percent in the fourth quarter. On the other hand, the unemployment situation in urban areas when we compare to rural areas started at just over 2 percent in the first quarter, then rose dramatically to 4% in the second quarter and fell back to the initial starting point and finally rising to almost 5 percentage in the fourth quarter.
