The chart illustrates British Emigration to selected destinations from 2004 to 2007. It is evident that the number of British emigrants to Australia in 2006 was the highest during the timescale. It is also noticeable that only the figure for New Zealand experienced a regular reduction in the same period. Between 2004 and 2005, the number of British people emigrating to Australia decreased slowly by 2 thousand. On the contrary, the number of British emigrants to France increased dramatically from 23 thousands of people to nearly 35 thousand, whereas that for the USA underwent a moderate decline of 7 thousand. Meanwhile, there was a very small growth in the figure for Spain in the same period. The number of British people emigrating to Australia reached its peak at 51 thousands of people in 2006 before going down to about 45 thousand in 2007. In a similar way, the figure for the USA dropped by about 5 thousand, while there was a steady reduction of 10 thousand in the figure for France and Spain. The number of British people emigrating to New Zealand underwent a regular drop of about 1 thousand over the four-year period.
