Overall, the majority of people in these cities preferred going to a cafe to have tea or coffee, except in Adelaide. Compared to other habits, buying fresh coffee was the least popular in all cities.
In Sydney and Melbourne, over 45% of the people bought instant coffee, whereas the proportions of those purchasing fresh coffee were around 44% and 43%, respectively. Meanwhile, a very high percentage (above 60%) visited the cafe to have drink tea and coffee. A similar percentage of Hobart city dwellers had this habit as well, while a relatively higher number of residents in Hobart bought instant coffee (slightly below 55%).
On the other hand, around 34% of the public in Brisbane and Adelaide bought fresh coffee. In these two cities, people buying fresh coffee and those visiting a cafe were more or less equal, around 55% and 50% in Brisbane and Adelaide, respectively.
