The bar graph compares the percentage (%) of households residing in rented house and in owned homes in given two countries England and Wale for the year 1918 to 2011. In 1916, around 76%of households were staying in rented accommodation while, nearly 21% resided in owned house. Percentage of people living in paid housing dropped around 12% in 1939. Further, owned accommodation increased nearly by 10% and remained same till 1963. In 1971 both owned and rented housing came at same preference level at 50% in England and in Wale. There was drastic change noticed in owned living house in 1991 reaching the peak point of approximately 69% but slight decrease was seen in 2011. After 1971, rented accommodation declined and reached around 31% and further minor increment was seen in 2011. Overall, it can be seen that before 1971 individuals were highly staying in rented house and after 1971 more number of people shifted in owned place.
